Renaissance Salon recently conducted its annual holiday “Giving Tree” campaign to spread joy to those less fortunate during the holiday season.
This year’s tree benefited the area children in the Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization. Twenty one children received gifts, plus another eight donations being made to sponsor children for summer camps.
Participants could read a short biography on each of the featured children including an item or two that they would love to get at Christmas. A matching gift tag was selected from the tree, the item was purchased and the donated gift was returned to the tree.
Salon owner Diane Carper along with daughter, Chloe delivered the gifts just before Christmas.
“We are very pleased with the support from both our team and their families as well as the community,” Diane said.
“Big Brothers Big Sisters was a great organization to choose because participants could select a child and make that connection. We want to thank everyone who participated and made this year’s tree such a success. All the gifts were beautifully wrapped and far exceeded what the children ‘wished’ for.”
